Strange Times

My creative work has been sorely affected by happenings during the past 6 months or so. It has been a really difficult time and has had a big impact on me creatively, so that I felt I lost my way rather. I am trying slowly, but hopefully surely, to find my path back.

One thing I've been tentatively working on are some jewellery pieces. Something new for me, but something which has been calling to me for a while now. I have sketch pads filling with tiny creatures, it's very theraputic. Just the roughest sketches but they are now slowly being transformed into tiny vivid paintings, like scraps of illuminated manuscripts.

For my masks.... well if you are planning to visit the Isle of Wight, England, next month, then be sure to check out the Isle of Arts festival weekend in Ventnor from 15th to 17th April. Alongside works from other local artists, created in a variety of media, you'll also see a few of my pieces on display - and for sale - at the Wight Light Gallery just off the High Street. There will also be other attractions including music, drama, film, workshops, etc. Come and help make this new event a great success! For more details see The Isle of Arts.

Best Wishes to you all

  1. Your sketches are lovely - they have a wonderful fluidity about them which really appeals. It'll be lovely to see them transformed again once painted. It looks as though your creative mojo is slowly getting back on track - long may it reign!

    Kate :-)

  2. Don't forget to take pictures of the exhibition!!!

can't wait to see your jewels, your sketches are very intriguing
i'm sure your jewels will be wonderful!
i'm sure you will be soon on your path with even more creativity that you had before
let me know once everything is settled it should be soon now, I hope!!

  3. welcome back, how lovely are your sketches. Hares & foxes some of my favourite creatures! i cannot wait to see what you will turn them into! Creativity does seem to ebb and flow with our emotions doesn't it and it is always a relief when it returns. x
